Something interesting about Sumal:  Sumal is ruled by the Cardinal from the city of Carldon.  There are no other major cities and the rest of the country is covered by a dense forest.  Because of this, it has become a country full of bandits who take refuge in the woods.  Small towns and villages line the river but there are no other inhabitations except in the far north where the forests come to an end.

 

Sumal used to have a monarch, however he was killed by an apparently misfired arrow from one of his own archers.  There is doubt over who fired the shot and why, but the Cardinal of the day was quick to step into the role that had been cleared and the Cardinals have been ruling the country ever since.
